Hooked

Back in the old days, we didn’t have access to things in excess, like we do now. That means when we found some honey, we could enjoy it without it killing us. It was part of nature’s little gifts that only came to us, once in a blue moon.

Today, however, that isn’t the case. If we wanted, we can fill ourselves with how much ever honey we’d like, even if it meant allowing ourselves to inflate into little balloons.

The problem? Nature made us without knowing that one day we would game the system so as to cheat ourselves of the natural order. And that means, we aren’t made to know when to stop doing things. In other words, I’m talking about the A-word: addictions.

So, here’s a list that I keep of things that people get addicted to:

(And when I see these things out in the world, I assume someone put it there to get something from me, and therefore, I avoid it [or at least use it in a way that’s deliberate]. That helps me navigate things, and maybe, just maybe, it will be able to help you too, cheers).
